The 2010 Hunter Homeless Connect Day is being held on Monday 18th October 2010 at Broadmeadow PCYC. This date has been chosen as it is in line with Anti-Poverty and National Footcare Week. The theme and focus for this year will be footcare and we are aiming on organising a podiatrist, foot washing, foot care and providing new shoes and socks to as many people attending as we can. This is only a theme and other activities will not be excluded.

The following link is a care pack wish list so please print it out and display it on your notice boards and encourage as many people as possible to be part of this. We are asking for donations for these care packs and if enough people donate one or two items there will be enough to make 2000 packs in no time at all. care pack HCD.pdf

The steering group are now using hsnet as a form of communicating outside of the monthly meetings. This website allows members of the group to go on and talk to each other and upload documents so that organising can be done and decisions can be made in between meetings. If you are a member and know of someone that you think should be you can add them yourself on the site. https://www.hsnet.nsw.gov.au/

There will be steering group meetings every 2 weeks now up until the day of the event. The next meeting is on Thursday 16th Sept at Broadmeadow PCYC.

A sleepout is being organised for the night before Homeless Connect day where people can sleep outside and get a feel for what it's like for people sleeping on the streets. A fundraiser will be held and on Monday morning before the event starts breakfast will be cooked for everyone who attended the sleepout. More details will be provided when it get's closer.
